REMEMBER THE BATTLE... AND THAT IS IT!

I assume you know that before His work of creation, God the Creator had given the whole thing a good thought. And what He made was the product of His thought and intentions. That should be expected. No rational Builder would commence the construction of a master-piece without the blue-print. It is unthinkable.

Even with a casual study of the Bible, it is difficult not to see that Divine intention was for an Earth that is full of God's goodness; an Earth that fully supports man in his destiny-assignment. And that

was the Earth God created.

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth...And God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was VERY GOOD” Genesis 1:1,31

Both the mind and the character of the Maker are revealed in His original handiwork. “BEHOLD, IT WAS VERY GOOD”. That was the Earth as He thought it and made it. And in those few words,

the Creator eternally separates Himself from any evil we may see on earth.

It is true that evil has become a part of our very existence and reality. The problem it presents lie hard upon our consciousness. But what God made and what we now have are two different things. He had no evil in mind. He made no evil for man. Where evil exists, we can simply label it with the words of the Lord in Matthew 19: “FROM THE BEGINNING IT WAS NOT SO”

We should ask then, “How did it become so now if from the beginning it wasn't so”? We should also ask, “Now that it has become so, what steps has God taken to address the situation on

Earth”? But first,

How Did We Come to This?

History is a wonderful subject. It will interest you to know that God has history. Man has history. Even the devil and his demons have history. A lot of mysteries are locked up in our history. Our present is born from our past. To open the doors into our past is to unravel the riddles of our present. How did God's good intentions for man become current nightmare? How did we come to this?

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth... and God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, IT WAS VERY GOOD” Genesis 1:1, 31

“The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed GOOD SEED in his field” Matthew 13:24

This was God, the Creator-farmer. What He planted in His field was GOOD SEED.

“Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, yea, hath God said....” Genesis 3:1-3

“But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way” Matthew 13:25

The serpent, the enemy entered the equation and introduced into it a new factor. The coming of the serpent marked the beginning of evil as a human experience. What had never been before started being, what was not so from the beginning began to be so for man.

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” Romans 5:12

“From the beginning it was not so...” Matthew 19:8

We live in a grossly disordered world. But the disorders are not God made. They are the products of human choices and behaviours under the influence of forces opposed to God's goodness and just rule.

Societal ills are not part of our creation make-up. They are outcomes of faulty choices. Poverty on earth is not God-made. It is the result of the system we operate. The super-rich plus the super-poor give a balance equation. What the poor lacks is in the surplus and excesses of the rich. Lacks on earth do not result from scarcity of resources. They are products of imbalance distribution and mismanagement. And we can't blame God for either! The order of things as revealed in the opening chapters of Genesis testifies against any thought that makes God the author of human sufferings and predicaments.

“Behold, it was very good” is a valid post-script to what God intended and subsequently created. How did we come to our present state of pains, ruins, sufferings and confusion?

An enemy has done this, and it was while men slept

(Matt. 13:25, 28)

How Bad Is Our Case?

The depth of what the serpent did to man in the garden is only known to God. Something changed. Something fundamental to man's relationship with God changed almost irreparably.

“God sowed good seed in his field. But while Adam slept, the enemy, the serpent came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went away. But when God's seed sprung and put forth fruits, the enemy's intention and input also showed forth as contamination”

(Genesis 1:1, 31; 3:1-3 and Matthew 13:24-26)

And how bad was the situation?

“Angels came to God and asked him, Sir, was it not good seed you sowed in your field? Where did it get these contaminations from”? (Matthew 13:27)

God replied them, “What you see is the work of the enemy”. Then the angels said, “Wilt thou then that we go and destroy this work of the enemy”? But God replied, “No! Lest while you gather up

the tares, you root up the wheat with them” (Matthew 13:27-29).

That is a fearful comment!

What was it that the enemy touched that caused this kind of irreparable damage! Even Angel's couldn't help.

“For we must needs die; we are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again...” 2 Samuel 14:14

The situation was dire! The enemy's intention was cruel to the core. Evil rushed in like a mighty flood. The Heavens stood aghast. Humanity had let God down. The unimaginable had occurred. The

aids of angels were completely useless. The Eternal One was left alone to sort out the dramatic complexity into which man had put Him. What was He going to do?

The Devise!

In the heat of the satanic invasion that turned the Earth into a dark arena of miseries, the Almighty took a glance at the enemy and uttered these words which have haunted the adversary down the

age!

The seed of the woman: it shall bruise your head Genesis 3:15

This is a radical approach to the very root of human sufferings. This was God addressing the fundamental principle of evil. This was the Axe laid on the root of evil. This was God's devise against all that satan is, all that he has done and all that he can ever do!

“God devised means” (2 Samuel 14:14) to solve and dissolve the problem of evil to its very foundation. The seed of the woman came. He took on the serpent in a mortal combat. Calvary witnessed the duel unto the death! God's Holy Son entered into the chambers of death and took hell and death by the throat! The enemy of God and man stood judged and condemned. The seals that he set upon the cage of humanity were shattered by the Son of God.

On Calvary tree, God died that man may live. He bore our pains and our sorrows in His own body. He paid the price for the souls of men.

And Now, What seems to be The Problem?

God took liability for man's failure. He devised means to solve the riddles of our collective miseries. The work of Redemption that Jesus under-took at Calvary was radical and complete. Heaven recognizes no obstacle to the freedom of man. God sees no reason why anyone should remain in chains to satan. The entire issue of man's subjection to demonic oppressions and afflictions has been

settled forever in the mind of God.

Where then is the problem? Why do men still lie prostrate to the impostor called satan?

What You Should Know and What You Should Do!

What needed to be done concerning the devil and his bunch of lawless terrorist demons has already been done. When our dying substitute cried: “IT IS FINISHED”, we stood free from everything we might have owed the adversary!

That brings us to Job 41. What is it that you need to know? You do not have to struggle with the enemy. You do not need to fight him. See Job 41,

“Can you draw out leviathan with an hook? Or his tongue with a cord”?

The answer is, No! I can't. “Can you put an hook into his nose? Or bore his jaw

through with a thorn? Will he make a covenant with you?

Can you fill his skin with barbed irons? Or his head with fish spears?

No! I can't do any of that. I do not need to do any of it. Leviathan, the old serpent has been dealt a mortal blow by the Son of the living God! Satan is no longer a major issue! I need not struggle with him any longer.

What Then?

“LAY YOUR HAND UPON HIM, REMEMBER THE BATTLE, DO NO MORE” Job 41:8

That is it! Remember the battle at Calvary! Remember the three days in the belly of the earth. And that is it! Remember that the keys are no longer in the hands of the enemy:

“...Jesus Christ our Saviour has abolished death and has brought life and immortality to light” 2 Timothy 1:10

“Having spoiled principalities and powers, He made an open show of them, triumphing over them in it” Colossians 2:15

“He destroyed him that had the power of death, that is the devil; (to) deliver them who through the fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage” Hebrews 2:14, 15

Remember the Battle! Remember the Blood of Jesus. Remember the Name that is above all names. Remember that He took your place and fought your fight and won for you a victory that no devil can

challenge or contest! Hear Him:

“I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death” Revelation 1:18

This is our ground for total freedom. This is our resurrection response to all of satan's death programmes. When we have remembered the battle, there is no more to be done, for there is

no foe, no enemy, no serpent or dragon or leviathan that does not know what the cross of Calvary stands for! “It is Finished” means “it is finished”. What is FINISHED is Finished! In case any lying devil wants to confuse you on this, you just Remember the battle, do no more, for there is no more to be done!
